![]() Personally, I'd rather see such a Tank Escort game mode added under the Historical/Hardcore mode umbrella. T-Gewehr can shoot through tanks and arty directly hitting would kill the tank, also a bundled nade would de-track it most likelyīut there will never be any player-controlled tanks in this game. Can't just add tanks and call it a day.īut there will never be any player-controlled tanks in this game. But this game mode, one side has tanks, so there really would need some thought put into it. infantry with similar weapons and call-ins. Right now it's rather balanced as it is infantry vs. Entente wins if they capture all the trenches, as per usual.īoth sides would be balanced differently against eachother to make it a fun game mode. The German team would defend with the help of call-ins, bundle grenades and the T-Gewehr. Originally posted by Savage Beatings:Only way I see tanks added is if there were to be a game mode where the Entente would assault with say three tanks that are AI controlled and on rails, and all you do in Entente is use these tanks as mobile cover while trying to cross No Man's Land and capture trenches when you reach them. You also have the problem of if they were destoryed the hull blocking a chunk of the map. Map objects are placed to balance the map and to funnel the play, tanks would destory the wire.Tanks sank on Flanders and would need to be killed when they spawned. All squads need to be viable on all the maps.Recon will be useless as they have hardly any explosives. Assault troops will stuggle with only grenades. Sector artillery and Creeping barrage will nullify them. All squads need to be balanced between each other, Line infantry will easily counter tanks with mortars. The current focus is capturing and defending the trenches which tanks will stuggle with as they are larger then the trenches.Only the French Renault FT17 and British Whippet have less men but then what do the others do? The main British and German tanks needed multiple crew, more then 4 men which is the squad system.Germany only produced 20 of their own tanks, so would end up using lots of captured British tanks. They could only be realistically used on ideal terrain and locations, as seen on Flanders they sank in the wet mud. They were unreliable, losing up to 50% of their number before the battle and then more before the passing the first trench. There's only 1 recorded tank vs tank battle of the war, so both sides having them shouldn't happen, random squad system means this would happen alot.
